Which system helps reduce dust more efficiently, the heat pump or geothermal unit. How expensive are either to install and maintain? I currently have an oil furnace for heating. Does the geothermal unit replace the water heater?
Thank you!
The removal or reduction of dust is done by whatever type of filtration system that is attached to the heat pump or geothermal unit. The same filter system can be attached to the oil furnace as well. As for the cost to upgrade to a heat pump or geothermal system, the geothermal is much more expensive than air source heat pump and will depend on what type of system is used outside (wells or ground loops). A geothermal system can be connected to a water heater to supplement heating the domestic water. We would be happy to help you choose the right system for your needs. Hope this helps!!
